| Tone - performing at Eurosonic. FOTO: Søren Andersen | At SPOT 2008, Tone played in the Way Up North marquee and was spotted by a Benelux delegation, who chose the duo to play at one of the SPOT On Denmark events (this particular one was in Bruxelles last Fall.)
Since then, Tone has had their music on national radio in both Luxembourg and the Netherlands – they duo will now be released in both Germany and the Benelux countries.
Last time I saw Tone was at the Eurosonic Festival in Groningen in the Netherlands in January, where Sofie and Kristian performed a great show - with stunning visuals and exquisite electronica sounds.
I was fortunate enough to catch up with the pair for a short talk on the SPOT Festival grounds, shortly after they played at VoxHall.
Unfortunately, they experienced problems with their visuals while performing – visuals that are crucial for their performance, as every song is accompanied by visuals especially made for each song.
- We're used to having problems with our visuals, so it's nothing new, says Sofie and Kristian. Although they could not really hide the fact that they were disappointed by the technical difficulties.
-It's difficult to shake off when it happens, it sort of stays in your body, Sofie continues.
Both Sofie and Kristian agree that their music is probably best experienced in a movie theatre setting – a place where people are seated and paying attention all through out their set. Because as Sofie says – it's kind of a weird genre that we fall into.
Even though the night's concert was marked by technical difficulties, Tone can still enjoy the fact that their album is set to be released in Germany and the Benelux countries by PonyRec on September 4th. And maybe another country will follow soon, as some guy apparently yelled to Sofie at their concert at VoxHall that she was "going to Spain"!?
