I Was A King at Rytmisk Sal.
People are slowly, but steadily filling Rytmisk Sal – all presumably exited to see I Was A King. However, the audience seem to be feeling the repercussions of having been at a festival for the last couple of days, as almost everyone in the audience are sitting on the floor, while waiting for the band to go on stage.
It is clear after a couple of songs that the crowd is in for a concert of pure “old school” indie rock – not that there is anything wrong with that.
Although the four guys and one girl only played for half an hour, their American indie rock seemed to captivate the crowd.
Half through the half hour show, I managed to catch Christian Ulf-Hansen and Neil McCormick to hear their thoughts on I Was A King.
Both had been in the | The lone girl in I Was A King. FOTO: Jesper Hedemann. | panel at the “What Does it Take to Make it in the UK?” seminar earlier on the day, so the obvious question was to ask them both, if they thought I Was A King could make it in the UK?
-They could make it anywhere. They have good songs and a great singer, says Neil McCormick and continues:
-They're not gonna make it big, but there's always an audience for their kind of music.
Christian Ulf-Hansen adds:
- Put them in a van! They should tour America.
Judging by the two music business veterans, I Was A King lived up to the expectations and definitely made two new fans.
