This year's SPOT Festival will play host to Way Up North and DUP - both initiatives will have individual stages at the festival, where they will present acts who are not a part of the official SPOT Festival line-up.

Way Up North is a festival that promotes and tries to bring focus to music form North Jutland. Acts who have previously played at the festival includes The Blue Van and Figurines.
At SPOT, it will be possible to experience new acts from North Jutland - it was in fact at the Way Up North marquee that the Belgian SPOT-jury discovered Tone last year and later chose her to play at the SPOT On Denmark showcase in Brussels in November 2008. Performing this year will be, among others, Thee Attacks, who are currently working with famed producer Liam Watson.

Another marquee will be managed by DUP – the association of independent record companies in Denmark. In the DUP marquee it will be possible for artists and industry people alike to cultivate and create new contacts. As for the audience, the DUP marquee is the place to go if you want to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, need a cup of gourmet coffee and want to listen to music performed by, among others, CallMeKat and Mellemblond in an intimate setting.
