Trolle//Siebenhaar, Oh Land, Birk Storm, Electrojuice, White Pony, Mike Sheridan, Alloy Alloy, Balstyrko, Lucy Love, Hannah Schneider and Fagget Fairys to perform at SPOT  - a reflection of a rapid development on the thriving electronica scene.

A large part of this years SPOT applications have been from the electronica scene. Probably about 30% of all applications. And here, we are talking about ”pure” electronica acts and not about bands who mix their original sound with electronic beats. If that was the case, the percentage would be a whole lot bigger...

The assessment comes from Morten Varano, who was one of the four people in the jury evaluating this years applications. Varano, himself being a veteran of the eletronica genre, believes that the scene is widening and opening up these years.

-The electronica scene has developed a strong network - there's been collaborations between producers, musicians as well as vocalist features. What's interesting now is that the musicians are getting together in bands and are using the advantages that come from being in a band to their best, says Morten Varano, while mentioning Ane Trolle as a prime example of this.

Oh Land - creating quirky musical wonderlands on SPOT.
- Ane Trolle has taken the leap from doing vocalist features (ex. with Trentemøller) to playing in different bands and is now part of Trolle//Siebenhaar, JaConfetti, and Balstyrko, Morten Varano elaborates – while also mentioning Martin ”Pato” Siebenhaar, Ane Trolle's partner in crime in Trolle//Siebenhaar, and his involvement in White Pony as another example.

Both Trolle//Siebenhaar, Balstyrko, and White Pony will play at SPOT. And this is no coincidence. The three bands are all very different in their musical expression and are in very different places in their respective careers – this means that the three acts will approach their performances at SPOT very differently.

Along with Trolle//Siebenhaar, Balstyrko, and White Pony, the following electronica acts will be performing at SPOT. More acts are soon to be released.

Trolle//Siebenhaar – The collaboration between singer Ane Trolle and multi-musician Martin ”Pato” Siebenhaar. They created a buzz with the track "Sweet Dogs" and later with the album "Couples Therapy". With the combination of  pop, laid-back reggae and Ane Trolle's raspy voice, the band has caused quite the stir – national as well as international.

Balstyrko - Blæs Bukki, Ane Trolle and Ormens Danish-speaking collaboration, which has already yielded their first radio hit. The pop/hiphop/dub. ect. inspired ”Intet stopper helt” was released in February and was shortly followed by their first live performance. Come March, the long awaited debut album ”Jagten Paa Noget” will be in stores.

White Pony – House/electro act with Martin ”Pato” Siebenhaar and Diefenbach guitarist Lasse Lyngbo. First single ”Falling” has been in heavy rotation on P3 (Danish National Radio) – their debut album is scheduled for released later this year.

Oh Land - Nanna Øland Fabricius' musical wonderland, where almost everything is possible and turns out as tasteful vocal harmonies and quirky wonderlands. The single ”Audition Day” has knocked down the walls to the broader public – debut album ”Fauna” continues to attract equal attention.

Birk Storm – song-writer, producer, and ,first and foremost, drummer (previous drumming-gigs include Outlandish). A master of catchy, danceable electro-funk. Winner of P3's (Danish National Radio) ”KarriereKanon”- first single ”I Don't Care” achieved massive airplay on the same radio station. His debut album has been well received by critics.

Birk Storm - rythmical equilibristics at SPOT.
Electrojuice
– two 15 year old musicians - Jakob Torp Littauer and Mads Lund Kolding. Played at SPOT last year and immediately caught peoples attention, national as well as international. With their electro/house sound, which comes over as both diverse, dansable, and brightly put together, even more people will be listening this time around.

Mike Sheridan – 18 year old ”geek” who has already made a name for himself with his delicate, gloomy, and subdued arrangements. Has played at both Popkomm in Berlin and at MIDEM in Cannes – with equal success at both events. Some call him Trentemøller's heir, but Sheridan is not easily pigeonholed.

Alloy Alloy – Danish/Belgian duo, who have been making music together for the last two years. A love for dance/party music with aggressive duo vocals, lively synth lines, pumping beats, distinctive boom bass, and a whole lot of fun. The duo have yet to release anything, but have been a popular fixture on Copenhagen's club scene.

Hannah Schneider – mixes electronica and pop, while using both machines as well as the acoustic guitar. Creates a sweet and endearing sound with soft synth bass tone accompanied by beautiful and quit vocals. The single ”Raindrops” was chosen for P3's (Danish National Radio) ”KarriereKanonen”.

Lucy Love –  something you do not see every day: a Danish female MC, who practices the pushy, razor-sharp, and dirty British grime-style of rap. Where electro meets funk, and where Britney and Beyonce are not exactly welcome.

Fagget Fairys – club and electro duo, who have created a name for themselves with juicy beats and an extremely extrovert performance. Have perform in Berlin, New York, and Paris. Debut EP ”Samo Ti” was released by New York label Palm of Sound last year. Their debut album ”Feed The Horse” will be released in the months to come – the title track is already out as first single.
