EMILIANA TORRINI AT SPOT 2009 – PLUS MORE NORDIC AND SINGER-SONGWRITER ACTS.
HENRIK FRIIS

Emiliana Torrini will perform at SPOT 2009.
The wonderful and quirky Emiliana Torrini (ISL) will perform at SPOT – thus becoming a part of a diverse Nordic line-up.

It has been over four years since Emiliana Torrini gave her last concert in Denmark - she has now been booked for this years SPOT festival, which is partly due to a collaboration between ROSA/SPOT and Iceland Music Export.
Over the past 20 years, ROSA has developed a strong working relationship with several collaborators on the Scandinavian market, which means that the festival is, once again, able to present a wide array of interesting Scandinavian music.

New additions to the line-up include The Low Frequency in Stereo (NO), The Megaphonic Thrift (NO), Hanne Hukkelberg (NO) and Ólafur Arnalds (ISL) – the new acts are joining the previous Nordic line-up of I Was A King (NO), For A Minor Reflection (ISL), Orka (FO), Shining (NO), Joensuu 1685 (FI) and Baskery (SE).

The songwriter stage – an island at SPOT

Since 1999, the SPOT festival has had the feature of presenting singer-songwriter acts on a separate stage and this year's festival is no different.

Danish shooting star Aura will perform on the songwriter stage.
Danish acts Aura, Jacob Eriksen, Butzback, Hannah Schneider, and N*Grandjean will perform along with Scandinavian acts Disa (ISL), Rockettothesky (NO), Taxi Taxi!(S), Wendy McNeil (SE/CA) and Jarle Bernhoft (NO).

The songwriter stage separates itself from other SPOT stages, because it comes with two principal dogmas: there is a three person limit and no drum sets allowed. However the limitations might be, the stage is still a valid supplier of diversity, with known as well as unknown acts all belonging to various different genres.
