DANISH AND INTERNATIONAL JURY WILL EVALUATE SPOT APPLICATIONS

Preparations for the upcoming SPOT Festival, which takes place in Aarhus from May 21st to 23rd, is already in full swing.

Every year, ROSA – The Danish Rock Council, receives applications from musicians, bands, booking agencies, record companies, and managements in hopes of getting their acts on the slate for the SPOT Festival.
Both capacity and economically wise, the festival is only capable of presenting around a 100 acts, which means that most applicants will receive a refusal. With this years 838 applications around 750 of these will receive a refusal letter in the moths to come. Some disappointment will be justifiable, though some acts are solely not chosen by reason of capacity and economics.

As a natural progression, the jury has expanded to also including international members. Danish members Morten Varano and Peter Skovsted are joined by Kristoffer Endresen, head of Norwegian MySpace, and Kurt Overbergh from infamous AB club in Brussels. The four will now begin the process of listening to the submitted acts in order to establish who will have their debut at the SPOT Festival.

The final program will consist of the submitted newcomers, Danish acts who are seen as having export potential, Nordic acts, and a few established acts.
