Winter's most important live festival, held last month in the Dutch city of Groningen from January 15 to 17, saw seven Danish acts perform. The Eurosonic Festival has been dubbed as one of the most prestigious festivals, which makes it an extremely important place for newcomers to play.
Thursday night, three Danish acts were slated to play – Vincent Van Go Go, Lulu Rouge, and Tone.

Vincent Van Go Go kicked things off at the Vindicat venue, delivering a charismatic and energetic performance.
- It's definitely a showcase we're playing tonight, and we're mostly playing it for our German connections, the band told us before the show.
In the months to come, Vincent Van Go Go will be playing both German and Austrian gigs as well as the SPOT on Denmark event in Paris January 27.

The night's second Danish concert came from Lulu Rouge – slated to play at the somewhat bigger Main Stage at Grand Theatre. Close to a 1000 were in the audience, eagerly awaiting Lulu Rouge and their mix of dub and electronica. The band did not disappoint and delivered a great performance. With shows in Switzerland, France, and Spain later this year, as well as a possible US tour, the future is looking bright for the band.

Tone stood for the final Danish performance of the night at the Grand Theatre's smaller stage, Up Stairs. With her delicate vocals and impressive visuals, she entranced the audience with a stunning performance. However, some people did decide to leave in the middle of the concert, but every seat was quickly refilled by the people queuing outside.
Days before playing Eurosonic, Tone gave concerts in Hamburg and Amsterdam, and plans are to get a distribution deal in order to release her records outside of Denmark.

The second night at Eurosonic saw Our Broken Garden play at the intimate venue, USVA. With their dreamy and intense sound the band spellbound the 150 people attending the night's show. Besides playing in Groningen, the band will play a showcase in London later this month and are currently working on new material for a new record – their debut record landed them a spot on MOJO's top 50 records of 2008.

The Asteroids Galaxy Tour played to a packed De Spieghel venue later that evening. Proving that they are a great live act, the band had the audience eating out of their palm in no time. Having had a song in an iPod commercial in the US, a successful German tour, and an impending debut album release, things are looking quit good for The Asteroids Galaxy Tour.

Closing the night were Grand Avenue at the News Cafe venue. Already a somewhat known act in The Netherlands, the crowd was ready from the get go. The band certainly enjoyed themselves and lead singer Rasmus Walter Hansen found himself out in the audience more than once.
Grand Avenue are currently working on completing a new album, but a final release date has yet to be set.
