Former punk drummer Janie Price is the woman behind the alias Bird. It is singer/songwriter pop and folk with only a cello to accompany Price's brilliant whisky voice. On her recently released album all parts of the orchestration including bass lines and drum rhythms are recorded on her cello - playing live her take on the classical instrument is accompanied by three more backing cellos.
